Summer camps for kids in Mumbai

In preschool, children learn about the world through play. Subject areas aren’t separate in their minds or in the classroom. Teachers may introduce children to basic concepts such as shapes, letters, and colors, but preschool is about learning much more than what a circle looks like. It’s where children first develop a relationship with learning. And the Mindgrove curriculum fosters this relationship.

We target practical, hands-on activities and creative play, which helps in developing artistic expression and social capacities.

Our aim is to develop inquisitive and morally responsible individuals equipped with a high degree of social competence.

Our pedagogical theory considers that during the first years of life children learn best through unselfconscious imitation of practical activities in an environment conducive to learning. They experiment with the properties of matter at the sand and water tables. They learn phonics when they sing songs together. They master important physics concepts like balance and stability as they build blocks at the block center.

The curriculum at Mindgrove is based on active and experiential learning. We focus on the latest developments and current research in the field of early childhood education. It is a unique blend of traditional play way methods and modern technology. Our curriculum will shape the personality of the child in terms of values, skills, analytical knowledge and visual perception with interactive tools.

The curriculum stresses on balanced holistic development in the five key domains of learning, namely cognitive, emotional, social, physical and lingusitic development. It is designed to cater to early-age curiosity.

The curriculum developed by us is of international standards and is supported by Timelife books from Educational Technologies (ETL) & books by Dr. Seuss.

What is ETL Learning?

ETL Learning is a total development program based on Howard Gardener Theory of multiple intelligence. The curriculum uses the latest educational tools, electronic books and digital learning.

The program centers on three areas of development in children:

Knowledge

Stimulating their natural curiosity encouraging questions and providing answers at their level of understanding.

Skills

Developing their abilities to see, hear, speak and think into essential skills like reading, writing, math, computers, language, observation, imagination, listening, perception, logic, reasoning and decision-making.

Values

Teaching basic values like honesty, obedience, sharing as well as subtle attitudes like being open-minded, responsible and accepting.

How Does the Curriculum Progress?

The curriculum is completed over one academic year considering the varied cultural holidays and festivals. It also helps us provide a 20 to 30 day buffer in order to facilitate teachers to cover the portion easily and ensure that the child’s conceptual knowledge is intact before the commencement of his/her formal schooling.

Each topic or theme targets language, numbers, social and emotional skills and creative and cognitive concepts. Apart from that, our curriculum includes suggestions for books to be read to the children that can be used to enhance their moral development (Behavioral Attributes). The curriculum clearly states the learning objective along with the resources required for each theme.

An assessment sheet is provided to the teachers to keep a track of the development of the children in their classroom, which in turn helps them to fill the progress report.
